Goldfinch on the fence - a photo on Flickriver

While I was preparing for my talk at the PSA conference, I spent some time digging through my archives. There were plenty of images that I passed over the first time for a reason, but I found a handful that I was excited about. This lovely female goldfinch is perched on a lichen-covered fence railing in the Tomales Point Parking lot. There's a male just outside of the frame to the left that she's intentionally ignoring.
