[EN] The Kino International is a film theater in Berlin, built from 1961 to 1963. It is located on Karl-Marx-Allee in former East Berlin. It hosted premieres of the DEFA film studios until the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. Today it is a protected historic building and one of the main venues of the annual Berlin Film Festival, the Berlinale.

[DE] Das Kino International ist ein Großraumkino an der Berliner Karl-Marx-Allee 33, das von der Yorck Kinogruppe betrieben wird und sich zwischen Alexanderplatz und Strausberger Platz befindet. Es wurde 1963 eröffnet und diente in der DDR bis 1990 als Premierenkino. Als Zeugnis der architektonischen Moderne steht das Kino seit Beginn des 21. Jahrhunderts unter Denkmalschutz. Durch seine leichte und luftige Funktionalität unterscheidet es sich grundlegend von den in den 1950er Jahren fertiggestellten Gebäuden der Karl-Marx-Allee. (Wikipedia)
