Eat The Nut, Not The Skin - a photo on Flickriver

            There's been a drama of epic proportions in the back yard this morning.  A very immature cardinal was under our table on the patio.  It was being threatened by a couple squirrels, and a blue jay.  At least three adult cardinals were defending the young one, both attacking the threats, and trying to lead the attackers away.I did go out hoping my presence would at least scare the squirrels away.  This guy, I shot yesterday.  (Photographically, of course)
