Het Drontermeer in Nederland vormt het meest oostelijke van de Veluwerandmeren van het IJsselmeer. Het meer ligt tussen de provincies Flevoland (gemeente Dronten), Gelderland (gemeente Elburg en Oldebroek) en Overijssel (Kampen). Het omvat 476 hectare en is buiten de vaargeul erg ondiep.

Het meer grenst in het zuiden bij de brug van Elburg aan het Veluwemeer. Noordelijk, bij het Oldebroekse plaatsje Noordeinde, is er een punt waar bovengenoemde drie provincies samenkomen. Ten noorden daarvan ligt de Roggebotsluis, waar het Drontermeer overgaat in het Vossemeer.

Door de smalle vaargeul, waarbuiten het te ondiep is, en de vele bomen die aan de oevers staan, hebben zeilers vaak problemen, omdat er te weinig of verkeerde wind op het langwerpige meer staat.

Onder het meer is de bouw van de Drontermeertunnel voltooid. Deze spoortunnel was eind 2009 gereed en werd op 6 december 2012 in gebruik genomen.

The Drontermeer in the Netherlands is the most easterly of the Veluwerand lakes of the IJsselmeer. The lake lies between the provinces of Flevoland (municipality of Dronten), Gelderland (municipality of Elburg and Oldebroek) and Overijssel (Kampen). It covers 476 hectares and is very shallow outside the navigation channel.

The lake borders the south at the Elburg bridge on the Veluwemeer. Northern, at the Oldebroek town Noordeinde, there is a point where the above mentioned three provinces come together. North of it lies the Roggebotsluis, where the Drontermeer changes into the Vossemeer.

Because of the narrow channel, outside of which it is too shallow, and the many trees on the banks, sailors often have problems, because there is too little or no wind on the oblong lake.

The construction of the Drontermeer tunnel has been completed under the lake. This rail tunnel was completed at the end of 2009 and was put into operation on 6 December 2012.
