Apparently endless path in the greenhouse of a specialized strawberry grower

This photo was taken during the open day of Kom in de Kas 2022 in a long corridor between the strawberry plants of the large greenhouse horticulture company of Dutch Berries in the Gelderland village of Zuilichem, municipality of Zaltbommel. The public event took place again in 2022 after this was not possible for two years due to the corona pandemic.
Dutch Berries grows strawberries all year round on an area of 240,000 m². Sustainable LED lighting, biological crop protection and combined heat and power (CHP) are used, among other things. With the yellow sticky traps above the plants, unwanted insects are caught and at the same time the pest pressure is measured. The containers with plants hanging above the corridor are lowered in the morning and raised again after picking the ripe strawberries to clear the path.
A press release distributed by the national organization of Kom in de Kas shows that almost 100,000 people visited the greenhouses on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 June 2022. About 70 greenhouse horticultural entrepreneurs opened their businesses in 12 regions across the country.

Deze foto is tijdens de open dag van Kom in de Kas 2022 gemaakt in een lange gang tussen de aardbeienplanten van het grote glastuinbouwbedrijf van Dutch Berries in het Gelderse dorp Zuilichem, Gemeente Zaltbommel. Het publieksevenement vond in 2022 weer plaats nadat dit door de corona-pandemie gedurende twee jaar niet mogelijk was.
Dutch Berries teelt jaarrond aardbeien op een oppervlakte van 240.000 m². Er wordt o.a. gebruik gemaakt van duurzame LED-verlichting, biologische gewasbescherming en warmtekrachtkoppeling (WKK). Met de gele vangplaten boven de planten worden ongewenste insecten gevangen en tegelijkertijd wordt de plaagdruk gemeten. De boven de gang hangende bakken met planten worden 's morgens naar beneden gelaten en na het pukken van de rijpe aardbeien weer opgetakeld om het pad vrij te maken.
Uit een door de landelijke organisatie van Kom in de Kas verspreid persbericht blijkt dat op zaterdag 11 en zondag 12 juni 2022 bijna 100.000 mensen een bezoek gebracht hebben aan de kassen. In 12 regio’s verspreid over het land stelden zo’n 70 glastuinbouwondernemers hun bedrijf open.
