Grebes elephant competition - a photo on Flickriver

Grebes are wonderful birds. This is off course a well known subject, their mating behaviour sharing 'presents'.

Upon seeing this one I had to think of a painting by Salvador Dali that I saw a long time ago. In this painting you can see swans in a lake and their reflection resulting in elephants (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swans_Reflecting_Elephants), IMO a brilliant thought.

It is the combination of the weed (resembling trunks) and how they expand their neck feathers (could be their ears), for sure they look like elephants :).
