Souther Fell - The haunted hill. - a photo on Flickriver

A Mr. Lancaster's servant on Midsummer's Day 1735 reported seeing a phantom army marching along the crest of the ridge, some on foot some mounted. Ten years later, to the day, the same spectral force was witnessed by no less than twenty six people who swore to the event and were regarded as sober responsible citizens.
Unfortunately no further sightings have been reported. If passing by keep your eyes open.
