Saddleback - Early Sunday morning. (with a nod to Edward Hopper)

            Saddleback , so good they named it twice - Blencathra. The small tarn has the local name for a lapwing - Tewet.
The sprus coming down from Blencathra were truncated by a passing glacier during the end period of a glaciation. The glacier was heading North around the Northern Fells towards The Solway Firth and took the corner badly. The gradient change on the spurs shows the abrasive results of the close encounter.
