New York World's Fair Relics - a photo on Flickriver

            The Rocket Thrower from the 1964-65 New York World's Fair.  The statue can be found in its original location in Corona Park in the Flushing Meadows section of Queens, NY.   

The 43 foot bronze sculpture was created by Donald De Lue.
               
Behind the sculpture is the Unisphere - the symbol of the fair.  

I always feel lucky if I happen to be on the fairgrounds, and the fountains are working.  During the fair, it was titled "Fountain of the Continents".
