Railway Bridge, Monnow River, Monmouth, Wales. UK.

            The Royal Monmouthsire Militia were given their own steam engine to practice skills and were to become a part of the British Army Royal Engineers reserves.

This picture dates from circa 1877..

The steam engine is a small simple 0-4-0 with a saddle tank and no cab roof. It features conventional buffers and blocks.
