Headstone Tunnel, Monsal Trail, Peak District

            The 487m long Headstone Tunnel is located on the Monsal Trail which is a cycling, horse riding and walking trail in the Derbyshire Peak District. Originally, the trail was part of the Midland Railway line between Buxton and Derby, opened in 1863 and closed in 1968. It was reopened as a walking / cycling route in 1981 with the tunnels reopened in 2011.
