El color de los Odonatos - a photo on Flickriver

            Los Odonatos emprenden el primer vuelo cuando secan las alas, en ese momento han adquirido el tamaño definitivo y sabremos de su edad por su coloración.
Para ello debemos conocer el color del adulto. En este caso vemos a un macho joven de Calopteryx haemorrhoidalis y sabremos que es joven por las bandas blanquecinas en el tórax, y los tonos acaramelados de alas ya que el adulto será casi oscuro totalmente en todo su cuerpo. La parte menos coloreada de la base de las alas la conservará.

The Odonates take their first flight when their wings dry, at that moment they have acquired their final size and we will know their age by their coloration.
To do this we must know the color of the adult. In this case we see a young male of Calopteryx haemorrhoidalis and we will know that he is young by the whitish bands on the thorax, and the caramel tones on the wings since the adult will be almost completely dark throughout its body. The less colored part of the base of the wings will be kept.
