FS ETR 700 - FR 9707 Milano Centrale - Trieste Centrale - Trieste

            Die V250 des italienischen Herstellers AnsaldoBreda sind elektrische Hochgeschwindigkeitstriebzüge, die seit 2019 von Trenitalia als ETR 700 eingesetzt werden. Von Ende 2012 bis Anfang 2013 verkehrten die Züge unter dem Markennamen Fyra auf der niederländisch-belgischen Schnellfahrstrecke Schiphol–Antwerpen. Ihr planmäßiger Einsatz wurde nach zahlreichen Mängeln im Januar 2013 durch ein Fahrverbot der belgischen Aufsichtsbehörde unterbrochen und nicht wieder aufgenommen.
Von ursprünglich 19 Triebwagen sind heutzutage 17 in Italien als Frecciarossa unterwegs (die anderen beiden dienen als Ersatzteilspender). Im Bild vom 24. August 2023 ist einer der Triebwagen gerade als FR 7907 aus Milano Centrale in Trieste angekommen und überquert die Brücke kurz vor dem Bahnhof. 

Na het debakel met de inzet van de V250 FYRA treinstellen in 2013, heeft het een tijdje geduurd voordat de treinen een tweede kans kregen. Vanaf juni 2019 worden de in 2017 door Trenitalia aangekochte treinstellen na een opknapbeurt onder de naam Frecciargento ETR 700 ingezet en rijden naar verschillende bestemmingen in Noord-Italië vanaf station Milano Centrale. Inmiddels maken 17 van de 19 treinstellen deel uit van de Frecciarossa vloot (de andere twee dienen voor het leveren van onderdelen). Op 24 augustus reed een ETR 700 treinstel als FR 7907 van Milaan naar Trieste en heeft het eindpunt bijna bereikt

The Trenitalia ETR 700, originally NS Hispeed V250, is a high-speed train designed by Pininfarina and built by AnsaldoBreda originally for NS International and NMBS/SNCB to operate on the Fyra service between Amsterdam and Brussels.
V250s were delivered with a significant delay. Full commercial services with V250 started on 9 December 2012 but stopped only 39 days later on 17 January 2013, after the Belgian Railway Inspection Agency suspended the trains' operating license, because of safety and structural problems with the construction and maintenance of the V250s. All were removed from service and sent back to AnsaldoBreda in Italy.
In August 2017, Trenitalia purchased all 19 V250 sets to expand its high speed fleet and rebranded them as ETR700s. After being refurbished, they entered service on Frecciargento services, on the Adriatic railway, between Milan and Lecce in 2019. Seventeen sets will be used for services, with the remaining two used for spare parts.
On August 24th 2023 I managed to spot one of these sets which was headed for Trieste as FR 9707 from Milan and had almost reached its destination..
