TR6147 was NLJ516M Midland Red - a photo on Flickriver

From 1973 to 1986 NBC subsidiary Hants & Dorset operated a fleet of Eastern Coachworks bodied Bristol LH6L single-decks. One amongst them was number 3516 and registered NLJ 516M classified as a B43F. During 1982 it received a radical makeover by H&D to turn it into a ‘charabanc’ style vehicle for tourist and other activities. It retained H&D green livery and re-seated to be Ch26F, fitted with a full canvas roof plus apparently some parts taken from a 1929 Leyland PLSC3. Re-numbered 86 it was also re-registered to TR 8147 and stayed as such until it passed to Bournemouth based Shamrock & Rambler, where it retained both fleet number and registration. Whilst with them from 1983 to 1989 it received two further liveries one orange based the other white and green. In 1989 it passed to Midland Red North where it became their number 1 until 1996 when re-numbered 1001. Whilst with them it received a pseudo Midland Red livery and later moved into the Arriva empire in 1998 who returned it to be number 1 again. The vehicle is still extant now with the English Riviera Sightseeing Tour based in Torquay, although I suspect not being used at present.
