Sweet temptation

            Honey bee on Oregon grape flower (Mahonia aquifolium). The common mahonia flowers early in the spring and thus provides an early source of nectar and pollen for bees and bumblebees. Due to its good supply of nectar and very good supply of pollen, common mahonia is a good food source for honeybees and other insects in spring.
