Off along 42nd Street to Times Square

I have been compelled to find old photos of my wife since her passing earlier this year, to try to make something new of them, as if she were still around to photograph and attest to her charm and beauty.

This is a noisy and cropped soft detail from an earlier upload which was more a record of the place we had visited. LTUE, East 42nd Street*.

Here the painterly focus is more on my wife, showing her default state of interest in everything and amiable good humour. But I also wanted to retain something of the setting and atmosphere around Tudor City. We had just set foot on 42nd, emerging from our hotel doorway, outside the frame to the extreme left, about to amble off past the beautiful Chrysler Building (although, as evident in the above original wide-angle view, my wife is here glancing in the opposite direction), on the way to Times Square on a crisp evening in Fall.

Due for a hip replacement on return home, I was in agony on the walk. I would gladly exchange that pain for the one I have now, if I could have her back too...

Panasonic ZS3 Lumix. Excellent versatile vacation camera. (This kind of night-time scene was one of its specialties).
