20168 - Hope Cement Works

            HNRail 20168 “Sir George Earle” adds a welcome splash of colour to an otherwise grey and industrial scene, paused between the nights shunts which would include loading cement wagons and ferrying them between Breedon’s Hope Works and the exchange sidings at Earles on the Hope Valley. This locomotive only returned from Harry Needles, Barrow Hill workshops in August having received a full overhaul and a fresh coat of paint which looks extremely smart, It’s numbered internally by Breedon as No.2, the CCTV camera on the nose is linked to a monitor in the cab to assist the driver visually when shunting and traversing the branch.
