The Eagles are Home - a photo on Flickriver

            A couple of years ago, I trekked out to the eagle nest that resided in the upper limbs of a tall Ponderosa Pine and discovered it had been badly damaged by a strong winter windstorm. The eagle pair that inhabited it didn't return. While trundling around Smith last week, I stopped by to see if just maybe the nest had been repaired and reoccupied. To my delight, it had been with this lone parent sitting gently on what will soon be a newly-hatched family.
