Chandler-Memorial Airport was once a propliner heaven, but by the early 1990s it had become a boneyard, holding 20+ hulks of large props in various derelict states. What a relief was therefore Tanker 115, which was probably the only fully airworthy aircraft on the field that day.

Registered as N90802 to T & G Aviation, the DC-7 was seen basking in the hot Arizona desert sun, and I was told it was there for maintenance, as it had reportedly been sold abroad.

In fact it was delivered to Spain the following year, becoming EC-888 with Baquero Servicios Aéros, and EC-GGB by 1996. Sometime after it was stored at Cordoba, and broken up there during 2010. The aircraft was originally built for BOAC in 1956 and acquired by T & G in 1979.
