Green imperial pigeons in love - a photo on Flickriver

The green imperial pigeon (Ducula aenea) is a large forest pigeon in tropical southern Asia from India east to Indonesia.
The green imperial pigeon is a large, plump pigeon, 40 - 47 cm in length. Its back, wings and tail are metallic green. The head and underparts are white or whitegrey, apart from maroon undertail coverts. There are 13 subspecies which which differ slightly in color from each other.

De groene muskaatduif (Ducula aenea) is een grote duif uit tropsch Zuid-Azië en komt voor van India tot in Indonesië en een ondersoort in noordelijk Australië.
De duif heeft een lengte van 40 à 47 cm. De bovenkant is metalic groen en de onderkant is wit tot grijswit. Er zijn 13 ondersoorten die licht in kleur van elkaar verschillen.
