Sydney - a view from North Sydney - a photo on Flickriver

I visited this hotel last Saturday to see my friend and his wife who had come down to Sydney from Byron Bay. Therefore I had an opportunity to take some photographs from their suite.

Whilst the foreground - the houses in North Sydney itself  -  look quite good, I was disappointed by the focus/detail on the harbour, and the city, in the distance. So I think I really need to invest in that 70-200mm lens, because this 16-35mm lens, whilst it gives a panoramic view, seems to be missing the finesse in the distance, unless of-course I am doing something wrong (quite possibly - lol) 

Therefore, when viewed large, this image is not satisfactory, but I wanted to post it because I don't have this particular view of Sydney - from North Sydney.

Perhaps the other factor may have been some camera unsteadiness because, only a small part of the hotel window would open (being so high up), so I had to push the camera out through a narrow slot. Perhaps?

Anyway, this is a different view of Sydney, with North Sydney and then Lavender Bay in the foreground.
