The Fiat 124 Sport Spider is a convertible sports car marketed by Fiat and designed and manufactured at the Italian carrozzeria Pininfarina factory, the monocoque, front-engine, rear drive Sport Spider debuted at the November 1966 Turin Auto Show with styling by Tom Tjaarda. The Sports Spider uses a shorter platform along with a shorter wheelbase, than the 124 Coupe and Saloon. The car was manufactured by Fiat (with a Pininfarina body) in Turin until October 1981, when Pininfarina took over manufacture in their San Giorgio Canavese plant.

The engine at launch was of 1439 cc and 89 bhp Progressively engines of 1600 cc, 1800 cc, 2000cc to a 2000 VX cc supercharged unit of 133 bhp

The cars were re-engineered in 1975 to comply with new US regulations and no European version was produced. Sales in Europe resumed when Pininfarina took over production in 1983 under the name Pininfarina Europa Spider.

Called the 2000 spider years 1979-82 and the Pinninfarina Spider Azzura 1982-85. when built by entirely Pinninfarina. Introduced at the Turin Autoshow in 1966 bodies were designed and built by Pinninfarina throughout production. .
