Taken from   Apartment 10, 25 Barge Walk, SE10, on the 05/07/2018 at 20:23:42Hrs using a Nikon D3100 camera with a Sigma  18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC MACRO OS Lens.
The Thames Barrier prevents the floodplain of most of Greater London from being flooded by exceptionally high tides and storm surges moving up from the North Sea. It has been operational since 1982. It is closed during exceptional high tides; Then at low tide it can be opened to restore the river's flow towards the sea.
