20230704_12k Pink hollyhocks (Alcea rosea) in Malmö, Skåne, Sweden

I'm batshit about hollyhocks. :'D One rarely sees them in my hometown of Gothenburg, but everywhere in Skåne. *diez*

On my 2022 trip to Malmö I somehow missed the cute Old Town; I only glimpsed it on my way to the bus home. This made me bitter. D: But on this trip I got a chance to take 1 photowalk there!

So... Check out the new trip tag, "ratexla's elton & iceland trip". This was the first day of that epic trip! I attended Elton John's three final tour shows in Copenhagen and Stockholm, then flew from Stockholm to Iceland with renowned bus tour company Rosa Bussarna (Pink Caravans). We went sightseeing in Iceland, took a ferry to the Faroe Islands, spent a couple of days there, took a ferry to Denmark, then another ferry to Gothenburg. :D

Some people slept on mattresses in the bus, while the most hardcore people slept under a tarp on its roof. I slept on the roof almost every night. :B

Highlights (apart from ELTON) included seeing fucking lava (from maybe 10 km away), geysers, puffins, weird filmic mountains, and WHALES (*screaming internally forever*). I also rode a horse for the first time since 2006. :O We didn't really get out into the bush though, just rode along a straight, dusty trail, and we never cantered, so that was relatively meh.

Iceland was beautiful but cold. LAYERS LAYERS LAYERS. I would have packed my winter jacket, but... I had a few days in which to roam around Stockholm, and obviously the shame of wearing a winter jacket in their warm-ish summer weather would have been too great. :p

PS. I'm going to New Zealand with Rosa Bussarna in January 2024! :D I've only wanted to go there since fucking 1999!
