« Against the Run est une véritable horloge de rue édifiée sur la place publique. Nonobstant sa présence quelque peu anachronique, signe d’un temps révolu où chacun n’avait pas encore accès à l’heure dans sa poche en permanence, l’horloge se fond, ni vue ni connue, dans la trame urbaine. L’œuvre furtive ne se révèle qu’à ceux qui s’arrêtent pour lire son cadran et qui en ressortent perplexes. Celui-ci tourne à contre-courant, comme s’il tentait d’échapper à son avancée inéluctable. Malgré son mouvement contre-intuitif et sa consultation rendue presque impossible, l’horloge déroutante indique toujours l’heure juste. C’est l’expérience familière de sa lecture, devenue seconde nature, qui se voit ici bouleversée. »
