Common Sydney octopus (Octopus tetricus)

            This individual was found washed up the shore and moving slowly and reluctantly, even after being grabbed and lifted up. As most Octopus, they mate only once in their life and die afterwards either of exhaustion or, in the case of some males, are eaten by the female. The specimen was very weak, which suggests said post-mating exhaustion.
