Delightfully Deafening - a photo on Flickriver

            The port side engines of NX529B, a Boeing 345 B-29A Superfortress. 
Each Wright R-3350 Duplex-Cyclone radial engine has 18 cylinders (two rows of nine) that together produce 2,200 horsepower. 
I took this photograph from the navigator's seat, directly aft of the cockpit. My hearing recovered a number of hours later.
