Pero el hecho que destaca históricamente es el de las erupciones acaecidas entre los años 1730 y 1736, que afectaron a una cuarta parte de la superficie de la Isla. Existen numerosos documentos históricos que cuentan los procesos eruptivos y que dieron lugar a lo que actualmente conocemos como Parque Nacional de Timanfaya. El más conocido es el manuscrito del cura Párroco de Yaiza, Don Andrés Lorenzo Curbelo, que relata los acontecimientos desde el comienzo de la erupción hasta que la población de la zona emigró entre 1731 y 1732, ante los continuados procesos volcánicos que se sucedieron.

But the fact that historically stands out is that of the eruptions that occurred between 1730 and 1736, which affected a quarter of the island's surface. There are numerous historical documents that recount the eruptive processes and that gave rise to what we currently know as Timanfaya National Park. The best known is the manuscript of the parish priest of Yaiza, Don Andrés Lorenzo Curbelo, which recounts the events from the beginning of the eruption until the population of the area emigrated between 1731 and 1732, due to the continuous volcanic processes that followed one another.
