This was a last minute shot while walking past the Melbourne Town Hall during the peak hours of the day! People everywhere in the city so i've to position & blend myself next to a lamp post to get out of the way for this shot. i would have guess no one notice my existence too as my build does resemble a lamp post ..alritey just a shorter one perhaps LOL!

About

The Melbourne Town Hall

Built between 1867 and 1870 from plans by architect Joseph Reed who also designed the Royal Exhibition Buildings and State Library, the Town Hall is a monument to the glory days of Victoria's Gold Boom. Recent renovations have managed to preserve much of its grand character and unique period features such as impressive wood panelled council chamber, the grand organ in the Main Hall which dates from 1929 and was recently rebuilt. With over 10,000 pipes it is the largest grand organ in the southern hemisphere.

The Shot

Standard 3 exposure shot (+2..0..-2 EV) taken handheld using Sigma DC HSM 10-22mm lens

Photomatix

- Tonemapped generated HDR using detail enhancer option

Photoshop

- Added 1 layer effect of 'curves' to increase the overall contrast
- Applied digital blending from 2 tonemapped hdrs to remove as much ghosting left by many rushing pedestrians as possible!
- Applied slight dodging on the sun reflection on the wall
- Added 1 layer effect of 'saturation' to decrease the overall saturation
- Used 'unsharp mask' (as always) on the background layer
