Ladakh im Himalaya - wenn ich den Namen höre, dann erinnere ich mich an einsame Klöster und schneebedeckte Gipfel unter einem unendlich blauen Himmel. Bilder von einer fremden und fernen, nahezu verlorenen Kultur. Ladakh ist Geheimnis und Mystik, aber auch beschwerliches Leben in abgeschiedenen Hochtälern fernab der Zivilisation. Den Menschen dort sieht man schon sehr früh dieses beschwerliche Leben an: An der Kleidung, im Gesicht, aber auch an den Augen.

It is not so easy to describe the picture because it is very expressive. Is it fear? melancholy? angry?

Portrait of a child in Ladakh, India (Himalaya). Lonely monasteries and snow-covered mountains under an infinitely blue sky. Pictures of a foreign culture, far away from europe. Ladakh is mysterious, but also cumbersome life in isolated mountain valleys far away of civilization. It is a hard life there: Take a view at the clothes, the face and the eyes.
