Monitoring speed limits in road traffic is one of the daily tasks of the police. But once a year, the monitoring bodies try to raise drivers' awareness of observing the speed limit with a coordinated campaign. The so-called speed camera marathon is organized by the European police network ROADPOL (European Roads Policing Network) and is therefore officially and internationally called the "Speed ​​Marathon".
