Carro Veloce CV-35

The CV-33/35 was a small light tank (more accurately, a Tankette) developed by Italy between the Two World Wars. During that period, many nations developed these small types of tankettes since they were much easier to operate and faster than larger and more conventional designs. However, they were usually armed only with machine guns and they had minimum protection, making them easy kills even for heavy machine guns like the Browning M2.

Italy produced these vehicles in large quantities and used them extensively during the inter-war period with poor results, namely the Second Italo-Abyssinian War and the Spanish Civil War. By the time World War Two started, it was still the most numerous tank available in Italy however they were quickly replaced by more advanced designs like the Fiat M11/39 and the M13/40 tank.
