The Summit of the Pico do Cristal (Crystal Peak) at 2,770 m (9,087 ft) MSL, Caparaó National Park, Alto Caparaó, Minas Gerais State, Brazil.

            The time to stay at the top depends on the willingness to endure the cold. But that is not the memory that remains. In memory is proof of the immensity of nature. In addition to the feeling that, by overcoming this challenge, it is possible to overcome so many others. A good spell and proof that life allows us daily renewal. As the character Corporal Lituma puts it so well, in the book “Lituma nos Andes”, by author Mario Vargas Llosa:

“When he regained consciousness, he was still shivering, now from the cold that made his bones creak. It was already night and, from the pain when trying to move, he had the impression that a car had run over him, crushing everything he had under his skin. But he was alive and it was wonderful that, instead of the rumble and torrent of earth, stones and rocks, there now reigned in the world this pleasant icy calm. Mainly in the sky. For a few seconds he forgot his body, bewitched by the spectacle (…)”.
