Yarrunga Valley - a photo on Flickriver

            This view is looking south along the valley formed by the Yarrunga Creek in Morton National Park which is a part of the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia.

Off to the left is the 81 metre (266 feet) waterfall, Fitzroy Falls which was named after the then Governor of New South Wales, Sir Charles Fitzroy who visited the falls in 1850 and who also visited the nearby town of Berrima where he stayed at the Surveyor General Inn. 

Not only did the Governor leave his name with the waterfall , he also left the publican's 18 year old step-daughter with a son born nine months later. This boy was named Charles Augustus FitzRoy after his father and was said to be the spitting image of the Governor.

The inn was built by convict labor in 1834 using local sandstone and was licensed the following year. It is Australia's oldest continuously licensed inn and a great place for a beer, or a meal, or both.
