For those of you who've never done anything but digital, those long, narrow prints hanging from clothesline are test strips for handmade b/w prints in the 24x36 range (and larger) being done by Robert Messina for local and national photographers who send their work to him to be printed. A test strip allows one to determine how close the exposure is without using a whole piece of paper.
The three strips at right, he told me, were from Laura Wilson, a well known Dallasite and mother of some famous actors.
The one at left was from someone out of state who does hand-tinting. I don't recall the name.
