            Il est vrai que tout n’est pas fantastique (la nourriture) , loin s’en faut, et l’on a de bonnes raisons d’être difficile quand on vient de France, cependant je suis sûre que les français se régaleraient à l’occasion d’un bon Fish and Chips, plat que mes invités, même les fines bouches, me réclament à corps et à cris lorsqu’ils viennent me voir (sauf Nathalie, ma sœur, écoeurée de le voir emballé dans du papier journal ‘’not in newspaper, please !’’ disait-elle avec son accent bien de chez nous  au commerçant ahuri de sa requête!)." It’s true that it’s not all wonderful, far from it, and coming from France one does occasionally struggle, however I’m certain that most French people would thoroughly enjoy a well-cooked plate of fish and chips, a dish which my guests, even the gourmets, insist on having when they come to visit (except for my sister Nathalie, who is appalled to see how it is wrapped: “not in newspaper, please!” she tells the stunned proprietor in her best Yorkshire accent).
