L2020_0927 Cwmorthin Quarry

CWMORTHIN TERRACE later known as TAI LLYN is a prominent landmark at Cwmorthin Quarry.

The terrace was constructed by the owners of Cwmorthin Quarry in two stages.

The first eight houses were erected in the 1860’s and constructed of dressed stone.

A further five houses made of slate blocks were built in the 1870’s bringing the total up to thirteen.

The later slate block constructed end of Cwmorthin Terrace. A local conservation group has undertaken some archaeological and consolidation work here.
