Alesund

            Ålesund se emplaza en siete islas de la costa oeste: Hessa, Aspøy y Nørvøy, Oksenøy, Ellingsøy, Humla y Tørla, las cuales emplazan la ciudad. El clima es pronunciadamente marítimo, con suaves y ventosos inviernos; el mes más frío del año, enero, tiene como temperatura media 1,9 °C. La menor temperatura registrada en la ciudad son -11 °C, marcado en el aeropuerto. Ålesund recibió estatus de ciudad en 1848, es el centro administrativo, además de ese principal centro es un importante nudo de transportes del distrito de Sunnmøre, y fue uno de los principales centro de pesca de arenque durante las décadas de 1950 y 1960.
