Darkest Hour

What inspired me to put the title of this photograph was really the Iron Maiden song, which bears the same name... it is a song inspired by Winston Churchill and the most critical, complicated, difficult and dark moments he lived through. .. you may be wondering, and what does this have to do with the published image? ... well, in the end, for me, it's all about inspiration and feelings ... I personally love "history and geography" and everything that has to do with it, so, I always find it interesting and inspiring ... although in the song, the tragic scenes take place practically all on the beach, I thought that this image was dark and scary enough to fit with this, I think that what the song tells, could happen perfectly in this scene.. .and although all this is very dark and sad, it is still the real story with that raw and harsh World War II ...

May 1940. Winston Churchill becomes British Prime Minister at a truly crucial moment in World War II, as the Nazis advance unstoppably, conquering practically the entire European continent and threatening to invade England. Churchill must then explore the possibility of a peace treaty with Germany, or be faithful to his ideals and fight for the liberation of Europe.
