Pileated Woodpecker.... - a photo on Flickriver

I had Thursday afternoon off to help with watching a couple grandkids. We ended up walking to Hager Park (57 degrees out) and played on the playground. We noticed a Pileated Woodpecker attacking this tree for about 30 minutes. We were standing next to the tree and this woodpecker was not bothered at all. We were ready to leave and we asked my 2 year old granddaughter that we only had time for one more thing to do before going home. Of course she picked watching the woodpecker for a little longer, nice. 

Once back home I grabbed my camera and headed back to the park and found him in this tree once again. I will have to keep my eye on this location and see if this hole becomes a woodpecker home.
