Great Central Railway Loughborough Leicestershire 6th February 2016

            The two stars of the recent Great Central Winter Gala stayed on for an extra week so this weekend the GCR put on a special "Southern Weekend" using both of them plus 777 Sir Lamiel.

The weather today was simply abysmal unfortunately, raining from start to finish. Here Bulleid rebuilt Battle of Britain light pacific 34053 Sir Keith Park brews up in the yard alongside Stanier 8F 48624, not in use this weekend.

We light up these days using Welsh coal to keep down the smoke so the neighbours don't complain. Unfortunately it looks as if 34053 has used the Russian coal......
