Great Central Railway Loughborough Leicestershire 28th January 2001

            The GCR Gala gets underway with steam engines being prepared on shed. The sun is rising over a beautiful winter's morning as Great Western Hall 4-6-0 6990 Witherslack Hall adds to the steamy atmosphere by  blowing off in the Up Through Siding.

Taken with my first digital camera bought in 2000. Early days when the resolution of the camera was an underwhelming 1.1Mp although this Sony was the first model to break the thousand pixel barrier! Not quite sure why the image is so small - maybe I had the settings wrong...
