Waterval Boven South Africa 21st May 1982

            These were the "Big Game" I was hunting in South Africa in 1982!

Beyer-Peacock/North British Garrett GMA 4-8-2+2-8-4 4108 is being cleaned in the yard at Waterval Boven shed. Built in the UK in 1956 after withdrawal from SAR in 1984 4108 went to Tweefontein Colliery but later was scrapped.

Waterval Boven (known today as Emgwenya) is a small town situated on the edge of the Escarpment on the banks of the Elands River above the 75m Elands Falls on the railway line from Pretoria to Maputo in Mozambique.
