Avontuurlijk - a photo on Flickriver

Avontuurlijk

Met donderend geraas passeert smalspoorlocomotief 2093.01 het Hühnernestviadukt. Het dek van de trestlework-brug torent 28 meter boven de bodem van het dal uit. Tijdens de overtocht van het gekromde 94 meter lange viaduct houden de passagiers de adem in, voor hen lijkt de trein gedurende een symfonie van staal op staal over het dal te zweven.

In de Bergstrecke van de Ybbstalbahn bevinden zich twee van deze Amerikaans aandoende trestlework-viaducten. Dit fraaie deel van de Ybbstalbahn wordt als museumlijn in stand gehouden.

Locomotief 2093.01 is een eenling uit 1930. De veteraan wordt voor museumtreinen op het traject Lunz am See - Kienberg-Gaming ingezet.
