Manitowish River A Touch of Spring - a photo on Flickriver

This is Spring? Yesterday I had to walk over a mile through over a foot of snow to get to the river. The river has been frozen since the middle of November. The ice is breaking up and it is a joy to see something other than the color of white. It is the price for living in Northern Wisconsin where winter last till May . But I would rather live here than anywhere. In a month or two everything will be green and growing in our northern paradise.
