Fire and Ice

            I had been to these ice caves before, and I tried to do some spark circles then too, but I was very unhappy with the results.  It could be because I had my 8 year old daughter helping me.  She was on shutter duty.  I had the timer on, but she thought she had to keep holding the shutter down.  Hum.  Well, needless to say all the shots were horribly blurry.  I was also unhappy with the color balance.  See, I thought I was smart and I used several small handheld flashlights to light up the background of the cave last time.  Well, those little guys all have different temperature casts, and boy was that apparent.  It looked goofy.  

Well, we had some family out that wanted to go see the cave.  Revenge time.  I had some adult folks do the spinning for me and I stayed on shutter detail this time.  I also lugged the big LED panels through the snow this time.  That made a big difference because the color cast was consistent.  I did end up gelling one to give some variety in the light.  

The version you see is a blend of a few images, but not a lot.  This is more what I had in mind.  Let me know what you think.
