Act of Incorporation 200th Anniversary - Lebanon, Tennessee

The City of Lebanon, Tennessee celebrated its 200th anniversary in November of 2019. Lebanon has a rich history, from the founding of our city to the WW II Maneuvers that took place here, Castle Heights Military Academy, Cumberland University, the Lebanon Woolen Mills, Martha Gaston Hospital and General Robert Hatton. The cabin here seen behind the 200 sign is just north of the town square and serves as a replica of the one used by Neddy Jacobs, one of Lebanon’s earliest settlers. According to an historical marker in front of the cabin, Jacobs and his wife Layula, a Lumbee Indian, lived very close to the site of the replica. When Jacobs died, his wife joined a group of Cherokees on the Trail of Tears headed west toward Oklahoma.

Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D7200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.
