239/R365 - Automatic Music Co ghost sign - Clarksville, Tennessee

A ghost sign is an old hand-painted advertising sign that has been preserved on a building for an extended period of time or just left to hold up the best it can to the elements. Today, the sign may be kept for its nostalgic appeal, or simply indifference by the owner. Mostly the latter to avoid the cost of doing something to remove/replace it.

This one located in Clarksville, Tennessee is for the Automatic Music Company that appears to be in the business of juke boxes or something similar called 'Coin Operated Machines'. While I do not know when the 'ghost sign' was originally painted but at the time, they felt it important to add "At This Location Since 1939".

This photo was taken in 2013 during my previous Project 365…please visit my album for this “REMASTERED” Project 365 as I revisit each day of 2013 for additional photos to share!!

Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D5200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.
