            My records state this is Toton allocated 25130 waiting its next duty at Chester MPD on the 29th July 1981. However 25130 had bodyside numbers at this point in time and I have now realised that this is actually Cricklewood allocated 25180. A number of my transparencies from around this time are marred by the fact that I seem to have had a very off period with respect to composition, getting far to close to the subject.

Locomotive History
25180 was built at Derby works sixteen years previously and entered traffic as D7530 in the February 1965. Its initial allocation was the Nottingham Division (Toton) and was one of a large continuous batch (D7521 - D7571) initially allocated here to replace the last of the Divisions steam locomotives on many of the area's freight workings. In August 1969 it transferred to the London Division of the London Midland Region (Willesden ) and its final transfer was to Cricklewood  in June 1975. During its overhaul at Derby during 1978 the boiler room grills were removed rather than plated over providing a cleaner look behind the No.2 end cab. It was a surprise visitor to Derby works between July and September 1982 with damage to the No.2 cab. Considering the ongoing rundown of the class 25 fleet it is surprising that repair was authorised and 25180 re-entered traffic in September 1982. At the end of 1982 a major reshuffle of London Midland Region locomotive allocations took place, particularly involving the class 25 and class 40 fleets. One of the outcomes of this reshuffle was the withdrawal of twelve class 25 locomotives during November 1982, with 25180, only two months out of Derby works following collision damage repairs, being one of these twelve locomotives,. Following withdrawal it was dumped at Saltley before eventually making its way to Swindon works, however it was still intact when Swindon works closed and stopped breaking up locomotives in 1986. Thus on the 3rd June 1987 25093, 25180/93 and 25306 were towed to Vic Berry's, Leicester arriving the next day. 25180 would linger until finally broken up in February 1988.
