This Bel Air belongs to the second generation Chevrolet Bel Air. This new generation was designed by Bill Mitchell (1912-1988) under supervision of Harley Earl (1893-1969).
A panoramic windscreen was new for the 1955 models, as well as the flat straight side panels on the rear and hood.
For model year 1956 a minor face-lift had taken place. Note the wider grille with integrated indicators on the side.
